Our Founder

TREVOR L. WILLIAMS

Welcome to Aspire 2 Be, a mentoring program founded by Trevor Williams - a dedicated individual with a passion for mentoring and giving back to the community.  Trevor currently mentors youth at The Mills Parole Elementary school through the Mu Rho Chapter of Omega Psi Phi. He helps lead the education sessions, escorts them on field trips, and encourages them to do their best every day no matter the circumstances.

Trevor has had a passion for mentoring ever since he graduated from South Carolina State University, dedicating his time to supporting youth in various ways. His journey began when he was commissioned in the Air Force in Warner Robbins, Georgia, engaging with local mentoring programs such as Big Brother Big Sister and coaching      youth sports, where he found fulfillment in guiding and inspiring young minds. He also volunteered to read to kids at local elementary schools. With each move due to military reassignments, Trevor sought out mentoring programs to participate in, including Omega Lamplighters in Montgomery,  Alabama, and Project Manhood in Omaha, Nebraska.

Trevor's inspiration to mentor stems from his personal experiences growing up. Raised in a household without a father figure, Trevor found guidance and support from the coaches of his Little League teams. Despite financial challenges, these coaches mentored him, allowing him to play for free as long as he gave his all.

Additionally, the elders in his neighborhood encouraged him, especially noting his good manners. However, in high school, when Trevor stopped playing sports, his grades began to slip, and he barely graduated. Determined to make a difference, Trevor pursued higher education and graduated from college. Since then, he has been driven by the desire to support kids facing similar challenges, pushing them to achieve their full potential.

Upon moving to Woodbridge, Virginia, in 2007, Trevor co-founded the Omega U mentoring program with his friends, drawing from the best practices of the many mentoring programs he had been a part of. This initiative aimed to provide guidance and support to youth in the community, reflecting Trevor's commitment to empowering the next generation. Despite subsequent military reassignments to Dyess, Texas, Edwards, California, and two assignments overseas in Doha, Qatar, and Kaiserslautern, Germany, Trevor continued to mentor and coach youth, demonstrating his unwavering dedication to making a difference.

In 2022, after 26 years of service, Trevor retired from the Air Force with a vision to continue his mission of giving back through mentorship. Drawing from his extensive experience in various mentoring programs, he founded Aspire 2 Be, a platform aimed at nurturing and guiding individuals towards success.
